I am not having any luck getting an audio driver to work with this build.
I am running an HP PC, AMD 64 X2 3800+ 1 GB RAM RealTek AC'97 Integrated Sound
I have tried HP directly, and have also tried the Nvidia and Realtek Vista Beta1 drivers. Anyone have any other suggestions?
--->Thanks Much!

RealTek Ac'97 Audio Driver for Beta 2 5384.4
Found a link to BETA 2 drivers on ntcompatible.com, I can't tell if they are x64 or x86 drivers, that you have to find out: http://www.ntcompatible.com/Realtek_AC97_Audio_Drivers_for_Windows_Vista_Beta_2_s68033.html -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

While I don't have exactly what you have, mine is Realtek 882D integrated sound on an ASUS board, I also was unable to get any of the Vista 64bit drivers from Realtek to install. Out of desparation I used the latest installation pkg from ASUS, which I also use on my base XP 32bit install. After installing the drivers and updating the driver from the device page {using the pick from specific location option} I was presented with 4 options of INF files to choose from, first one would not install, but the second one did, and after rebooting I had sound.
Might be worth a try.

I went into Control Panel, selected Windows Update and Windows installed the Realtek drivers. Sounds works fine although 5.1 sound comes out of only two speakers and the woofer doesn't work.
